This is the main plot for the site right now:

This is a sort of rewrite of Eldest, so read this carefully.

Eragon has just woken up after his battle with Durza and he gets the disturbing news that Murtagh has disappeared.
Indeed, Murtagh has run away from the Varden where he feels he doesn't belong and gotten captured by Urgals where they take him back to Galbatorix. There, he is forced to swear loyalty to the Empire and is given permission to go out as a soldier for him.
Meanwhile, Eragon and Saphira have met Gleadr and are starting to improve their skills under him, unaware of the new danger they face.
To make matters worse (or better) a whole hourd of dragon eggs have been found in the spine where they have been taken to Aberon and guarded heavily. But some of these eggs- the ones that were left behind- where they stolen by spies of Galbatorix. Now, many are trying to become Riders again and Eragon realizes how this may change his fate. The Dragon Riders have risen again- on both sides. Now Eragon finds himself faced with this problem: How can he possibly fight against Riders of his own level and viciousness?
As the Empire's Riders begin to outnumber the Varden's, Eragon and Saphira finds out about Murtagh's betrayal. In fear and rage, Eragon flees from the Varden with the help of Saphira to seek out Murtagh, but not yet knowing his own fate......

But Galbatorix's dragon, Shruiken is searching for a mate, and in a huge battle, he first lays eyes on Saphira. Now, he is ruthlessly hunting Eragon and will not stop until he and Saphira are captured.
